This brief journey includes the magnificent Sharqiyah Desert (previously known as Wahiba Sands). This is a desert region in Oman. The spectacular orange sand dunes provide a one-of-a-kind experience, especially when the sun rises over the dunes. Travel along the coast with a stopover in Sur City, a port city on Oman's eastern tip. Sur used to be a major shipbuilding location for vessels that spanned oceans. Prior visits included Wadi Tiwi, Fins Beach, Bimmah Sinkhole, and BiBi Miriam's tomb.
Validity Period: March - 30 April 2026 (Except Eid Holidays, Christmas or New Year) Surcharge is applicable.
Quoted Price is per person based on 4 Pax.
Begin the journey by driving to Wadi Bani Khalid. The wadi boasts lovely, deep blue waters, and the palm trees provide an enticing shade for a pleasant nap! Catch a peek of the picturesque towns dispersed throughout Wadi Bani Khalid as they cling dangerously to the slopes of the steep mountainside (Please bring your swimwear, the Wadi's clean waters are quite enticing! Also, light clothing and walking shoes may be more appropriate for this excursion). Then we go to Sharqiyah Sands (formerly called Wahiba Sands), a magnificent expanse of undulating sand dunes that rise up to 200 meters and stretch as far as the eye can see. It also supports a diverse range of flora and animals, as well as ever-changing dunes that are a photographer's delight!
Overnight at the camp (HB)
After checking out of the camp, you begin your interesting coastline journey to Muscat. We will make a brief stop in Sur City to explore the fishermen's harbor before continuing to the dhow building yard. Dhows are traditional Omani wooden fisher boats that are still manufactured by hand. Continue through Qalhat to Bibi Miriam's mausoleum (a picture stop from the main roadway). Proceed to Wadi Tiwi, another incredibly deep and narrow ravine created from the mountains that runs between towering cliffs all the way to the shore. After exploring the Wadi, proceed to Fins' beautiful beach. Also see the Bimmah Sinkhole, a natural hole in the ground caused by a collapsing mountain. The hole is filled with blue green sea. Return to Muscat and drop off.
